Manufacturing Tool & Die Technician

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Using knowledge of machining, grinding, measurement, drawing interpretation and understanding of engineering requirements: interpret engineering drawings and specifications to plan, manufacture, inspect and repair tooling and die components.  Ensure all safety requirements are met, encourage continuous improvements and lean practices.

Job Duties Include:

  • Build and maintain: tooling and fixtures and machine tooling components, based on drawings or reproduction from existing component.
  • Inspect tool conditions, functions and wear allowances using micrometer, caliper and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Develop guides and other work aids to hold and align parts.
  • Determine required cutting tools and machining method.
  • Guide production employees in proper use of dies.
  • Apply knowledge of geometry and machining techniques.
  • Turn, mill, drill, shape and grind machine parts to specfications.
  • Measure, examine and test completed products for defects.
  • Adherence to all safety protocols and utilization of all equipment in a safe manner.

Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

  • High school education or equivalent (GED).
  • Technical school education or certificate, preferred.
  • 4 years applicable experience- may include min of 2 years of work experience combined with technical training and education.
  • Die troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Machining hand tools and skills.
  • Working knowledge of quality principles and practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve problems quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of safety principles and practices.
  • Problem solving ability (for resolving practical problems and dealing with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction and supervision.
  • Lifting capability up to 50lbs.

Project and Design Engineer

Location: Huntington Beach, CA

Prepare technical drawings, engineering calculations, design guidelines, and specifications, estimate projects, enter product orders, perform structural calculations and engineering design work, and release projects to manufacturing for fabrication.  Provide assistance to manufacturing, sales and customer service.  Conduct occasional project site visits, new product devleopments and product testings.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assit with estimating of projects from start to finish (from doing take-offs to running structural analysis, getting outside quotes, hardware, freight an dinstallation quotes.).
  • Engineering of structural racking and structural components.
  • Design new products and custom parts and participate in new product development and engineering initiatives.
  • Assist with manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support and troubleshooting, manuals development, documentation creation and testing activities for rack systems to ensure compliance with design specifications, codes and/or customer requirements.
  • Prepare bill of materials and specifications for projects, products, materials and/or equipment.
  • Support project design and production efforts to ensure projects are completed on time and within established budget.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts for design to market speed, lean product development, value engineering and innovative designs.
  • Visit job sites for measurements, inspections, installer walk-thru's and to assist with sales calls.
  • Perform other miscellaneous engineering duties as required and assigned by management.

 

Qualifications:

  • BSc. degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or closely related field of study from an accredited college/university.  Professional Engineer (PE) strongly desired.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience in product design and manufacturing.
  • Experience successfully working and interacting with customers, suppliers, engineers and other stakeholders at multi-levels of responsibility in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong system analysis, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Innovative, self-motivated and well organized.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaboration skills in a team environment are required.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, provide excellent attention to detail and be willing and able to learn new technologies, quickly.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Familiar with FEA and other structural analysis and design software.
  • Efficient in AutoCAD and able to turn full project drawing sets over to cities for approval and permits.  Includes cover sheets, plan views, elevation views, detail sheets and bill of materials.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Inventor, Revit, RISA, SAP2000 or Visual Analysis is preferred.

Sales and Office Administrator

Location: Huntington Beach, CA

Provide customer service and administrative support to the sales and project management teams.  Process and coordinate sales orders with project and team members.  Perform various administrative and transactional tasks culminating in an excellent customer experience.  Interface with external customers and internal customers/team members via phone and email communication.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Open sales orders, review and verify accuracy of all information, and input into the ERP system.
  • Obtain accounting approval, route orders in a timely manner, to engineering team for processing and manufacturing.
  • Create and process small parts orders.
  • Provide excellent customer service via telephone.  Relay information regarding projects, as needed (shipping information, billing assistance, job status).
  • Proactively provide project updates to customers (status, shipping, changes, concerns).
  • Address customer grievances in a timely manner.  Provide follow-through to resolve in a timely manner.  Provide a friendly and professional hand off as appropriate to resolve concerns or issues.
  • Coordinate job status with engineering, manufacturing and project management teams and attend weekly project status meeting.
  • Using Excel, generate recurring reports for the sales and management teams.
  • Contact new customers and vendors to request required documentation for entry in our ERP system.
  • Issue purchase orders for project-related buy-outs (freight, engineering, small parts).
  • Manage sales orders by coordinating with accounting department, matching to customer order(s), and maintaining records.
  • Process change orders and adjust corresponding budgets and timelines.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, or general eduction degree (GED).
  • 3+ years of experience in an administrative assistant/support role.
  • Minimum 3 years of customer service experience.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills, including grammatical accuracy.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced office environment.
  • Ability to successfully manage time to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Intermediate plus level proficiency in MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
  • Excellent customer service skills a must.
