Why Rover?

ROVER IS A SHUTTLE-BASED PALLET STORAGE AND HANDLING SYSTEM THAT MOVES BI-DIRECTIONALLY WITH NO FIXED AISLE AUTOMATION

Rover Automation Advantages:

Unmatched Flexibility

Able to match any SKU Profile.  Integration flexibility.  Design automation around customer needs & facilities.  LIFO/FIFO.  Placed Infeed and Outfeed anywhere on the racking grid.  Match any building layout.  Flexible for future changes in customer’s throughput requirements.  Can change storage configurations/move or add racking.

High Density | High Throughput

Rover automation system’s typically create 15-20% more storage capacity than a selective rack warehouse. | A Rover system’s throughput is only limited by the number of Rover vehicles and VRCs (lifts) in the system.

Minimal Maintenance

The integrated Rover automation system requires minimal maintenance during high throughput operations.  Standard VRC and pallet conveyors are the only other material handling equipment in the system.

Price Competitive

Cost per pallet is typically lower than traditional automation technologies.  Minimal pallet conveyor supporting the system can lead to significant cost savings.  Rover acts as a sorter versus a conveyor system.  Simple infeed and non- powered outfeed conveyors also add savings.

Modular with Scalable Growth

Expand throughput by adding Rovers and VRC’s.  Add storage with additional racking.

No Single Point Of Failure

If a Rover malfunctions, simply move it out of the way and another Rover will complete the job.  If a VRC faults, the Rovers will use a different lift in the system.

Unlike a conventional cart or crane based AS/RS, Rover automation is able to provide high throughput and can be easily reconfigured to accommodate ever changing storage needs, SKU profiles and production demands.
